      What It Really Means to Be an Executive Director

      As an executive director, how can you move from being the one that does it all to the one that facilitates it all happening? That’s the question we’ll address during this interactive workshop led by Tamela Spicer. You will learn how to move out of the role of chief hero that does it all and into the role of chief host, facilitating the success of your entire team — staff, volunteers, and the board. Key concepts will include: Delegating with care Managing board relations Shifting from triage focus to strategic planning Cost: $60 (free for GVSU staff/students with ID) Deadline to register is April 5, 2020. Tamela Spicer, M.A. is the program manager for nonprofit services at the Dorothy A. Johnson Center for Philanthropy at Grand Valley State University. She works primarily with faith-based clients, and specializes in organizational structure, fund development, and strategic planning. Learn more about Tamela.
